Poetry 101 - Pantoum
I had held her one last time
Couldn’t help but feel lost and sad
Never again would she be mine
But I had given it all I had
Couldn’t help but feel lost and sad
How could she have a change of heart ?
But I had given it all I had
Till the end…from the very start
How could she have a change of heart ?
After all the love and all the care
Till the end…from the very start
My life with her I tried to share
After all the love and all the care
There was nothing I wouldn’t do for her
My life with her I tried to share
What more did I have to offer
There was nothing I wouldn’t do for her
Twice a year catch the flight
What more did I have to offer
Call and message day and night
Twice a year catch the flight
I see her face when I sleep
Call and message day and night
The wounds remain raw and deep
I see her face when I sleep
Taunting my commitment, yet
The wounds remain raw and deep
I fear I may never forget
Taunting my commitment, yet
I believe that time shall heal
I fear I may never forget
This pain that I so strongly feel
I believe that time shall heal
The leaves have fallen and grown back
This pain that I so strongly feel
My life now on a different track
The leaves have fallen and grown back
slowly I forget the hurt and pain
My life now on a different track
This heart shall love once again
